Our Story
The idea for Gentlemen’s Cut came to me while I was in high school. I wanted to create an atmosphere where men felt comfortable, welcomed, and relaxed. Louisville needed a place, designed for men, to treat themselves and take a break from the daily grind. I expanded my vision and made it into a reality.
Our team is successful because we are devoted to spreading positivity and building confidence in our guests. Our vision was to create a relaxing atmosphere while ensuring exceptional service for every single guest during every visit, so that’s exactly what we did.
Steve and Tara Lentini
Established in 2004
In 2004, Tara and Steve Lentini opened the doors of Gentlemen’s Cut – an independent, locally owned and operated business. They saw a need in the market for a professional, one-stop grooming center for men. Gentlemen’s Cut is Louisville’s own premier men’s salon and spa. Guests can relax, have a beer, and watch their favorite sports team on a personal television while they are getting a haircut. The team is trained to provide accurate and efficient service. The attention to detail sets Gentlemen’s Cut apart from other establishments.

We strive to treat each other and our community with respect, compassion, and believe that it is important to give back. The Gentlemen’s Cut team always looks forward to lending a hand. We are grateful for every opportunity to get involved in our community. We are humbled by the generosity of our guests and their willingness to help us in our many fundraising endeavors.
Thanks to the generosity of our amazing guests, we raised $2,001.00 in one month of fundraising!! We contributed to the 2015 event fundraising total of over $140,000.00. We were also invited to donate our time and head shaving skills at the University of Louisville School of Medicine’s St. Baldrick’s event, which raised over $11,000.00!!! 2015 was our first year participating in fundraising for this organization. Since then, we have continuously fundraised for St. Baldrick’s year after year. Ask a Gentlemen’s Cut team member for more information about how you can donate!
Each year, Gentlemen’s Cut partners with St. Vincent de Paul Louisville (SVDP). St. Vincent de Paul partners with individuals and families in crisis and helps navigate a path to stabilize their lives and reach their full potential. Products are purchased by our guests, and donated to individuals and families with the support of St. Vincent de Paul.
Every April for Earth Month, we join Aveda and Global Greengrants Fund to support clean water on a global level. Aveda uses the money raised through sales of the limited edition Light the Way candle to build access to clean water sources for communities across the globe. In 2015, this project raised $1.8 million in support of clean water in Manakara, Madagascar. Since 2006, Aveda has raised $9 million for Global Greengrants projects. We are thankful for the opportunity to raise money for such a selfless cause.
Every year for Earth Month, we join Aveda in raising money to support clean water locally. All Aveda salons in Kentucky raise money in direct support of Kentucky Waterways Alliance. Each year that we have participated, we have raised over $1,000!
